To get an idea of where we are....

Here is an idea of where we are living right now until July 8thish....
Broward county (down in the far right bottom area) is where we are. Look how far down we are! It takes almost a day to drive from where we are to the panhandle! And at the present time, it is extremely hot, and now you can see why.

New Aunt

Well, I thought that since I don't have any children of my own to take pictures of and share on here, then I would put up a few pictures of my new nephew, Knox! He is so cute, and I feel so sad that I don't get to meet him until he will be a few months old, but this works for me for now!

Sleepover and Campout!

So far, Adrian and I have felt so honored to be YW and YM leaders in this ward. In fact, when I first got here, my second Sunday was my first day as the Beehive advisor, though nobody knew that I was a leader. They all thought that I was just another Beehive. Sad. So, when I started to teach, the look of surprise on the girls' faces was, well, not surprising.
Anyway, about 3 of the girls are going to be moving soon, so I thought I would throw them a little party. (I say "about" because there is actually another girl who is an investigator who is also moving.) A sleepover to be exact! A couple of the girls could not make it, but we still made it work. We played games and watched Paul Blart (I didn't chose it, though it is one of my personal favorites) and went to bed at a decent hour.
During that time, Adrian got to go to the Father/Son campout for the Stake to help with the boys who currently don't have fathers here (one got sent to Afghanistan) or who's fathers could not make it. It sounded like it was a good time.

Anyway, just a little update.

If you are one of the lucky ones reading our blog, you may have noticed that I change the background to our blog probably every day. Twice a day. The truth is, I haven't found something I love yet. This one seems reasonable right now but we will see how I feel in a little while.

My New Hobby(s)

So recently, as I only work about 20 hours a week and Adrian works 40 hours a week, I have done the best I can to take up a few new hobbies. I started out with sketching, which I am not too bad at but not nearly patient enough for it. Then, my good friend Melissa introduced me to knitting. Wait, let me go back, my Grandmother introduced me to knitting long ago, but Melissa showed me all the wonderful things that I can make that are surprisingly not that difficult. For instance, today I finished a headband designed to cover my ears in order to keep them warm. It is slightly too big and way too wide, but I will make it work.

I am trying this so that one day I can make sweaters and socks and all kinds of cool things to give my kids on Christmas that they will probably not appreciate until they are older. But I don't care!
